Speech Assessment

Our Speech Therapist can assess you or your child’s speech, language, voice and/or fluency skills.

During your first visit, our Speech Therapist will talk to you about your concerns and get an in-depth history of you or your child’s medical condition, developmental milestones and current level of functioning.

He or she will assess you or your child’s difficulties using standardised and/or non-standardised measures. These may include observations, play, formal assessments etc. Assessments are usually done fun and engaging way, to see the best and most natural communication and speech skills of your child.

At the end of the session, our Speech Therapist will discuss with you our findings and recommendations. If therapy is recommended, we will also discuss with you how it will be conducted. We may also suggest referrals to other professionals for additional support if required.

At times, our Speech Therapist may need to gather more information and may want to communicate with other professionals you are in contact with. We will get your explicit consent before contacting them.

An initial assessment will usually take 1 hour. In certain situations, more than 1 assessment session may be needed. Our therapist will advise you if additional time or sessions are needed.
