What Our Client Says
EXCELLENT Based on 28 reviews Jellafora Janie2025-02-19Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We signed up for 10 sessions for our 22-month-old son, who could only say “mama” and “dada” inconsistently and used a few signs to communicate. Fast forward to the week of his last session, he was able to request milk by saying, “I want milk” (approximation) and was copying words much more consistently. My husband and I are really happy with his progress and the guidance we received from Ms. Evelyn. Angeline Lee2025-02-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. As a first time mom, feeding time was quite stressful for me when my child turned 2 months old. He struggled and took an hour to finish the bottled milk with a lot of pauses, grumbling, and crying in the process. Many guesses came to my mind — was he colicky or gassy? Should I change the milk bottle or teat or formula milk brand? Did he have sucking or swallowing issues? I never knew that I was over feeding my son till I consulted Ms Desiree. To all parents out there, do not fear to seek professional advice on feeding. It took me one face to face consultation and a quick follow up session to realise my mistake and to practice Ms Desiree’s feed strategy to see results. Feeding becomes enjoyable for both my child and me now. Rafi Ramadhan2025-01-09Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a wonderful experience with Magic Beans! Evelyn helped our baby get over her bottle aversion in less than a week, which is way faster than we thought! After being stressed our for over a month and numerous doctor visit in ID, Magic Beans was the catalyst in getting our baby to feed so well again! Highly recommended for those facing bottle aversion! Chen Sijin2024-12-13Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Magic Beans works wonders! Highly recommended. My daughter has aversion to feeding where she cries and rejects when being fed even when she is clearly hungry. We went for feeding therapy with Evelyn. She explained the reasons behind this aversion that my daughter is experiencing and patiently answered and many follow up questions that we have. The therapy was super effective! My daughter has improved tremendously! Evelyn is super professional, understanding, and kind! She went through the whole therapy session with a smile, and also got my daughter to smile many times! The receptionist is amazing too! A true professional who always has a smile on her face! Devayani Prabakaran2024-11-13Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I highly recommend Magic Bean! We came to them with my son’s bottle aversion, and the support we received was exceptional. The entire team was compassionate and knowledgeable, and they made our journey so much easier. Special thanks to Desiree, who was incredibly patient and skilled—her guidance helped my son make real progress, and we even started working on solids with her encouragement. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Magic Bean, for making such a positive difference in our lives! chua elaine2024-09-20Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My 18months old son couldn’t transition to solids from baby food because he sucked on his food and if it doesn’t melt, he’d spit it out and we had no idea how to train a baby to process it so he could swallow. Before going for therapy he attempted to swallow his small chicken bit without chewing, would gag and vomit. Thanks to Desiree and team, showed us how to get him to chew his solids before swallowing. The therapist had lots of toys to soothe the child, he was happy to attend sessions, they were effective and compassionate. It is helpful to bring some of the child’s favourite foods and toys to each session. Spratt Ebako2024-09-03Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After a strong recommendation from my son’s paediatrician, we contacted Magic Beans for support with our son who was 3 years old at the time with speech delay. After 8 months of weekly speech therapy, my son’s (all round) progress has been immense and very noticeable to all. He is not only vocalising more but can communicate his needs better through short sentences and phrases. We always received feedback after each session (with the session notes) which we found invaluable as that highlighted key areas for us to focus on at home and between his sessions. After a short while, the therapist also built a rapport with our son which facilitated his learning process. It has been a real partnership between parents and speech therapist, and we are truly grateful to Ms Ying for the role she’s played during this critical period in our son’s early development. Thank you. Chiaw Hong Kwek2024-07-31Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We are so happy to have found Ms Desiree! Our 4 month old was having feeding issues that bordered on bottle aversion and we saw almost immediate results just by applying the advice given to us in the first session. Feeding is now a less stressful and frustrating experience for our son and his caregivers. Highly recommend if you are a first-time parent like us and need some advice tailored to the specific issue you are facing! Shan Shan Lim2024-07-29Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We got to know Magic Beans from a support group in early 2022. After visiting its website, we found Desiree’s experiences and credentials helpful for our boy with Down syndrome. Desiree assessed our boy in August 2022 and concluded that his delayed speech development was mainly due to weak jaw muscles and dyspraxia. Our boy sees Desireee weekly since Aug 2022 and his speech has been improving since. He could say only about ten single words before therapy but today, he is able to say more words and has started saying two words together. We look forward to more collaborations with Desiree to help my boy grow in his speech and for others to understand him better. Christine Lin2024-07-14Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We chose Magic Beans as it is one of the speech therapy clinic recommended by KKH. My son started the sessions one year ago. He was non-verbal. Teacher Laureen was assigned to us. She works well with my son. My son started talking earlier this year and now he is talking like most 4 years old. The sessions were tailored to my son's needs. Teacher Laureen is patient, knowledgeable and good at what she does. She also plans her sessions and also works with my son's EIP teacher and KKH doctor. The charges are reasonable and I would recommend parents with kids who have speech delay to Magic Beans.

If you do have a doctor’s memo or any relevant reports, please feel free to bring them along or send them to us in advance. Additional information can give us a fuller understanding of you or your child’s needs. We are also happy to collaborate with your doctor or any other professionals involved in your care to ensure a coordinated approach.
An initial assessment typically takes around 60 to 75 minutes. During this time, we will gather important background information, including your main concerns, your child’s developmental and medical history, and any relevant input from their school or other professionals. This helps us build a clear picture of your child’s strengths and areas of need.
We will then conduct a direct observation or assessment of your child’s communication and/or feeding skills using informal and/or standardised tools, depending on what’s most appropriate. After the assessment, we’ll discuss our initial findings with you and outline possible next steps.
Please note that depending on your child’s level of participation and the complexity of their needs, additional time or follow-up sessions may sometimes be required.
After the assessment, we will take the time to explain the findings in detail and provide recommendations based on your child’s specific needs. Together, we will set therapy goals that reflect both your priorities and your child’s developmental needs.
We will also agree on the frequency and scheduling of therapy sessions to best support your child. As therapy progresses, we will regularly review and update these goals in collaboration with you, ensuring the plan remains relevant and responsive to your child’s growth.
Depending on your child’s needs, severity and condition, the frequency of therapy differs. We provide intensive sessions, weekly, fortnightly, monthly session depending on the child and family’s needs and requirements.
Every child progresses at their own pace. The length of therapy depends on your child’s specific needs, goals, and developmental profile. Your therapist will work with you to set clear goals and provide a general idea of how many sessions may be needed, while regularly reviewing progress along the way. Therapists will advise reducing frequency of sessions or discharge you and your family, based on the functional goals and outcomes that was set.
Yes, we do. We provide teletherapy sessions through video calls. While some cases benefit more from in-person sessions, many clients experience equally effective outcomes online. We often work with international patients from the region using via video calls or phone calls to support continuity of care. Teletherapy sessions are found to be effective in many cases and is the next best option for those who do not reside in Singapore. For local or those who reside in Singapore, teletherapy sessions have also been very useful, for close monitoring of therapy progress and discussions. Your therapist will help determine which format best suits your needs.
